Day 1: : Welcome to La Paz, Bolivia
Upon arrival at the airport, you'll be warmly greeted and escorted by private car to your hotel where we've arranged for early check-in. Take the day to relax and acclimate to the altitude.
Day 2: : Huatajata and Lake Titicaca
Check out from your hotel after breakfast and travel to Huatajata where you'll immerge yourself in the culture of Bolivia's Lake Titicaca. You'll visit the Antiplano Museum where a fascinating exhibit sheds light on the ancient cultural traditions of the region's indigenous Aymara people. Then meet a member of the Kallawaya, an itinerant group of traditional healers who have long lived here in the high Andes Mountains of Bolivia. You'll gain extraordinary insight into some of the ancient healing methods which they have used for nearly 1,000 years! Tonight you'll have a chance to observe the constellations of the Southern Sky as your guide shares fascinating Aymara beliefs about the Heavens. Spend a restful overnight at the inviting Inca Utama Hotel & Spa here in Huatajata, a scenic highland town on the southeastern shores of Lake Titicaca. Meals B, D
Day 3: : Sun and Moon Islands
Check out from your hotel after breakfast and travel to Cocotoni to begin your hydrofoil voyage escorted by a private guide across the tranquil and sacred waters of Lake Titicaca. Visit Sun Island to see its ancient temple sites. Climb the Grand Inca Staircase and sip the waters of the Sacred Fountain, which the ancient Inca believed would offer eternal youth and happiness! Enjoy lunch at the Uma Kollu Archaeological restaurant, then cruise to Moon Island to see the Sun Virgins' Temple of Inak Uyu. Board the hydrofoil and disembark in Copacabana which you explore before heading back to La Paz. This afternoon, your private sightseeing tour showcases the Colonial and modern districts of La Paz and also includes the bustling Indian Market, unique Witch Doctor's Market and breathtaking vistas of the city and its mountain backdrop. Day 4: : Onward to Uyuni and Colchani
Transfer this morning to the airport in La Paz for your flight to Uyuni, where you'll embark on a full-day excursion to the incredible Uyuni Salt Flat, one of the world's most unusual natural wonders. Covering a vast expanse of nearly 7,500 square miles, this is the largest salt bed on Earth. Tour the Salt Museum in Colchani and see the ancient methods which are still used today to extract the salt. Then visit Inkawasi, an extraordinary island oasis of unique vegetation in the middle of the desolate salt pan. This evening's sunset over this seemingly endless expanse of salt will be unforgettable. Tonight will be your first of two nights in a most unusual hotel made of salt! Meals B,L,D
Day 5: : Excursion to Mt. Tunupa
Today's full-day tour takes you to the impressive Tunupa Volcano, dramatically overlooking the vast Uyuni Salt Flat. In a small canyon on the side of the mountain, you'll also be able to visit a sacred cave tomb filled with mummies that were buried long ago. Overnight once again in Colchani at our unique "salt hotel." Meals B,L,D
Day 6: : Fly to La Paz
After breakfast, you'll be escorted to the airport for your flight to La Paz. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. Then join your private guide for an afternoon tour to the unusual Lunar-like landscapes of the Moon Valley. Meals B
Day 7: : Depart Bolivia
Our private car and driver will take you to the airport for your onward flight. Meals B
